Worley Associates spearheaded the comprehensive design and development of a cutting-edge facility strategically positioned to cater to the growing southwest region of the Richmond metropolitan area. Offering a multifaceted approach, our services encompassed programming, Architectural & Engineering expertise, and Interior Design, ensuring a seamless fusion of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The pinnacle of the design is the dynamic 2-story lobby, serving as the heart of the facility, exuding vitality and warmth. Infused with natural light and architectural finesse, it sets the tone for the vibrant energy permeating throughout the space.
Water features within the Natatorium can be viewed from the Lounge in the Lobby or the 2nd floor training area and include a four-lane lap pool, zero entry splash pool, children’s play activities, a slide and a spa. Catering to families, a dedicated child-watch wing offers tailored spaces for varying age groups, fostering a safe and stimulating environment. In this area is a versatile multipurpose auxiliary gymnasium, serving the needs of young patrons and providing a hub for active play and social interaction. Venturing further into the facility, one discovers several group exercise studios beckoning enthusiasts to partake in a myriad of classes, while cardiovascular and weight training areas on the 2nd floor mezzanine provide the perfect setting for personalized fitness journeys.
Embracing a commitment to sustainability, the project was meticulously crafted with LEED Silver Certification in mind. Innovative design strategies, including daylighting techniques, sustainably sourced material selections, and energy-saving systems, converge harmoniously to minimize environmental impact while maximizing efficiency and occupant comfort.
