Weidmuller Inc Warehouse and Office Additions

Worley Associates played a pivotal role in the original design and master-planning of the Weidmuller building expansion back in the early 1990s, earning recognition with awards for their work. Fast forward twenty-five years, and the continued growth in production demanded further expansion. This time, a new 15,000 square foot production warehouse and 5,000 square feet of office space were needed to accommodate the company’s evolving needs.

The design for the warehouse expansion adhered closely to established guidelines set by the existing warehouse. This included meeting specific height requirements and ensuring the reinforcement of the slab to support the intended use. Within the expanded warehouse, various areas were strategically placed to optimize production efficiency and circulation. High bay storage, material testing and packaging zones, as well as production areas for device components, were carefully positioned to streamline workflow and enhance operational effectiveness.

In addition to the warehouse expansion, the project included the construction of office space dedicated to the marketing department. This new office area was designed to provide a conducive environment for creative work and collaboration.

To improve accessibility and connectivity within the expanded facility, a new ramp and sidewalk were constructed. These elements not only provided easy access for staff but also facilitated a smooth flow of goods and materials in and out of the warehouse. Furthermore, an adjacent plaza was created to encourage group collaboration and facilitate outdoor meetings, fostering a sense of community within the workplace.

Overall, Worley Associates’ meticulous planning and design expertise ensured that the expansion project met the company’s present needs while also allowing for future growth and adaptability.
